perature 99?F., pulse 100 per minute, respiration 34 per minute, abdomen distended, slight rigidity on the right side about the lumbar and the iliac region, agonizing pain occurring in spasms, and slight tenderness over this area, but nothing suggestive of general peritonitis. No tumour was palpable. The case was regarded as one of acute bacillary dysentery at the time of admission, but one noticeable feature was that he did not have, as is usual in dysentery, any tenderness or pain in the region of the pelvic colon. It was thought that the ascending colon was the seat of invasion. Repeated stool examination showed nothing typical, the typical cellular exudate of bacillary dysentery was absent and on the contrary Charcot-Leyden crystals were found in the stools. With this indication emetine was instituted as the line of treatment, with a saline purge every morning and bismuth carbonate in

Beneficiation of Low-Grade Laterite Nickel by Calcination-Magnetic Separation Method
In this research, Effect of thermal treatment on beneficiation of low-grade laterite nickel by calcination-magnetic separation method was studied. In order to determine the components and elements of the sample, to recognize the main and minor minerals and their bond, and phase transformation caused by thermal treatment, Chemical analysis (XRF and ICP), microscopic studies and XRD analysis ...
متن کاملRecovery of Oil in Limestone with Cationic Surfactant: Investigation of the Adsorption, Wettability, and Spontaneous Imbibition
The performance of petroleum recovery methods is dependent on the characteristics of the reservoir rock, oil quality, and formation water. One fundamental feature for considering petroleum recovery methods is the wettability of the rock reservoir. Also, this feature impacts the displacement of fluids in the rock reservior. In the case of the limestone, which normally features oil wettability, e...
متن کاملSeparation and Recovery of Platinum and Palladium from Spent Petrochemical Catalysts Using Activated Carbon, Analysis of Two Kind of Most Used Catalysts in Petro Chemistry
The goal of this work is the separation and recovery of platinum and palladium from spent catalyst. The recovery consisted of separating the maximum amount of platinum and palladium from catalysts and changing them into usable forms. The petroleum and petrochemical units use Pt and Pd catalyst for reactions such as reforming and hydrogenation. Because these materials contain valuable metals...
متن کاملSelective separation of galena and sphalerite from pyrite-rich lead-zinc ores: A case study of the Kooshk mine, Central Iran
In this research, the selective flotation of galena and sphalerite minerals was evaluated from a pyrite-rich lead-zinc sample. An optimum mixture of selective collectors against pyrite and also organic/inorganic pyrite depressants was obtained in the flotation of galena and sphalerite by an experimental mixture design. The effect of different collectors and pH values were investigated in the ob...
متن کاملAn Efficient Method for Determining Capillary Pressure and Relative Permeability Curves from Spontaneous Imbibition Data
In this paper, a very efficient method, called single matrix block analyzer (SMBA), has been developed to determine relative permeability and capillary pressure curves from spontaneous imbibition (SI) data. SMBA mimics realistically the SI tests by appropriate boundary conditions modeling. In the proposed method, a cuboid with an identical core plug height is considered. The equal dimensions of...
